Volunteers Opportunities

Concord offers a broad menu of volunteer opportunities for you to make a difference in the life of someone else. You pick an age, an interest, a time and a talent—we will give you the person and program.

Our children benefit greatly by the attention of positive role models. The children certainly gain when time is devoted to those activities that reinforce their academic skills-tutoring/homework help.

Serving as a mentor for a pre-teen and teen is another very worthwhile experience. Don’t we all recall that roller coaster period in our life? The youth need help with their homework, someone that bolsters their self-confidence and a good set of listening ears.

Young adults and adults attending the GED program are always in need of someone to shed light or provide a different perspective on a subject that is a mystery to them. Sometimes help preparing for the GED test is all that is necessary. Academic skill building.

“Aging is not for sissies”. Senior members provide us with a “chore list” of tasks, as they are no longer physically able. Most of the time the help requested is relatively simple and it makes a big difference for their daily operations. Senior honey do requests.

Computer Public Access-helping persons who come to the center who want to use the internet for employment opportunities and resume submissions, reviewing their child’s academic purpose or conduction the many online tasks now required for taking care one’s personal business transactions. Increasing music and art activities for all age groups. Introducing and providing activities for children, teens and senior members in the areas of art and music -either through participation and/or expanding their appreciation.
